Thanks to Roger Carrington for these pics: "At the Wye 1970 we were killing time. In the picture Young was acting up for the camara but Davidson (I think) thought it was a bit real. At the Ca House party 1973 relaxed Taylor from Barbados is standing between Frs Bird and Christopher. If you look close Taylor has his hand draped on Fr Christopher's shoulder. I don't remember who is the lone singer." ?? Pics from Belmont Magazine March 1965 Old Boys Match, D of E trek, etc. Bro. James (Michael) Oakley produced a slim volume of poems with illustrations, printed in the Belmont Press in 1955. Here it is! A wonderful piece of work. A smashing guy who ran the school and monastery telephone switchboard. He was blind and had wonderful guide dogs. In those days weaving floor mats was thought of as a suitable occupation for the visually impaired.

SCANDAL!News cutting from the Hereford News June 1961 There was a scandal when David Coppage, a really good pianist, got stabbed in full view of the assembled parents and school at Speech Day 1961. He recovered thank goodness. Even the Daily Mail turned up, but we were ordered to say nothing. D. Brendan Minney who became headmaster presented these prints to the Junior Common Room in 1937. They were still in the Kemble Common Room in the 'sixties, they were sent to the printers by Fr Simon, but the printers went bust, where are they now?
Familiar to all who hung around the radiators during break, this a phenomenal item, with the names of boys from the school up until the late 'fifties all around the edge. Thanks to Israel Noko for these pics of a Belmont Mass in 1991
